2008 Advanced Institutes
Developing Effective Inservice Presentations
Dates: July 10th, 11th, and 17th, 2008
Times: 9:00am - 3:00pm daily
including additional work time with peers between class sessions
Cost: $100 for two grad credits
participants must have taken an NWP Teacher Summer Institute prior to this Institute
Where: School of Education at Willamette University in Salem, OR
Institute Format: Focusing on developing effective presentations, participants in this institute will collaborate with OWP peers to develop an effective workshop presentation that shares a lesson idea that reflects on effective teaching strategies.
Class will begin with discussion of OWP Inservice Programs, NWP goals and research related to effective teaching strategies. Students will develop and present a workshop based on their area of expertise and will then reflect on the feedback they receive from peers.
