Dear Traveling Young Writers Staff'

A great day lies before us! Your responsibilities/ joys today will be to stay with the group you are assigned to and enjoy the lessons. When the walk-about time comes for your group, you will serve as the "Walk-About" guide. Please see the map and suggested writing quiet spots from Carol Long. Also, the book_ Wombat's WalkAbout_ is available in the lobby of the Law School. Please return it so the next group can include the story when explaining what a walk-about is.

Also, right after Janet Wong's whole group presentation (9:45-10:00) please pick up snacks in the lobby for your group of young writers.

For your information, the anthology will be dedicated to Lawrence Cress who was Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Willamette until his sudden death last April. Hopefully, some of you have submitted pieces of writing for the anthology also.

Please know that all of you are welcome to attend Janet Wong's "Tips for Teachers" session in the Willamette Bookstore from 2:15-3:00. She will also be available to autograph books at 3:00.

This morning, we all meet on the 2nd floor lobby area, find out which groups students are in, and then proceed to Law E-201 Paulus Lecture 1 for Janet Wong's whole group presentation. Her break out room will be Law- 1 18. Flying Rhino's cartooning will be in Law B- 1 19. The Hallie Ford Museum is located on campus, and see your map for the Walk About.

At 2:00, the anthologies will be available in the lobby of the Law School, along with evaluations for the students to give input. Please encourage the students to complete these before they leave. Your input is greatly appreciated also, and there will be a box at the registration table for evaluation sheets from both students and teachers.

Please see poster in the Law School Lobby to see which students are in which group. All students and staff should gather at the poster after Janet Wong's whole group presentation. Also, in the book box in the lobby is a book by the author of each group. Feel free to pick up the book and take with you throughout the day and return at the end of the day.

Have a wonderful day! What a great joy to work with such talented teachers!
