Sponsored by The Oregon Writing Project
Willamette University

Job Description

Site Director: Meet with Young Writer's staff to plan, publicize the camp with teachers, students, collect student applications, secure building and rooms needed for daycamp, publicize camp locally, be available on the day of camp to welcome, troubleshoot, etc. Stipend: $150

Writing teacher: Meet with young Writer's staff to plan; develop "travelling teaching trunks," teach three days at local sites and be available to students on the final day of camp at Willamette. Stipend: $200

All staff are encouraged to submit pieces of writing for the anthologies. Our efforts to develop a Young Writer's Camp spring from the desire of Oregon Writing Project fellows to expand The Oregon Writing Project at Willamette to encourage young writers, reach more rural area students and incorporate the philosophy of the National Writing Project, that teachers of writing need to write with their students. Thank you all for sharing your talents in teaching and for this time of bringing together master teachers to work and share together.
